Château Maris: A Model of Sustainable Winemaking in the Spotlight

In its article “Wine Traveling: 4 Eco-Responsible Vineyards to Discover”, Gnitekram highlights Château Maris for its outstanding environmental commitment.

Located in the Minervois, between Narbonne and Carcassonne, the estate is recognized as one of the five most environmentally friendly wineries in the world.

Certified B Corp since 2016, Château Maris practices sustainable viticulture, from organic and biodynamic farming to the construction of a carbon-neutral hemp winery.

The estate also takes concrete actions for biodiversity, such as tree planting and a partnership with La Maison de l’Abeille to protect pollinators.

Visitors can explore the vineyard through a guided walk, a tour of the winery, and a tasting of wines produced with this eco-responsible approach. A well-deserved recognition for a pioneering estate in sustainable viticulture.

Decanter: “Sip to make a difference”

Decanter talks about the B Corp certification, highlighting the fact that we are the first vineyard in Europe to have obtained this certification.

94 Points for Brama 2021 in Vin de France:

Refined, radiant and refreshing, this 100% Grenache Gris from Languedoc plays delicate notes of meadowsweet, white blossom and lemon sherbet off richer tones of wild flower honey and cooked apples. Sophisticated and finespun in texture.

The first European winery to be B Corp certified.

The wine reviewed by Tanin: Les Planels 2020, praised.

Written by: Laurent Vuillaume

La Livinière

Recognized since 1999 under the name Minervois-la-Livinière, the appellation, now called La Livinière, is located east of Carcassonne and highlights Syrah.

The approximately 450 hectares of vineyards are operated by around forty producers at the foot of the “Montagne Noire”. The wines are true southern standards, with assertive power and a particularly clear fruity smoothness.

The 2020 vintage of Les Planels from Château Maris, praised by the wine review Les Tanins, is a beautiful wine with a refined and elegant licorice-scented nose.

On the palate, it reveals a dense yet silky texture, showcasing a precise and masterful aging process.

This is a wine to keep for a few years to unlock its full potential.
