The 2022 Drinks Business-Green Awards Special Commendation

Chateau Maris received a special commendation for the Drinks Business– Best Logistics and Supply Chain Green Initiative.

The annual awards celebrate brands and individuals that do so much more than simply pay lip service to sustainability. The 2022 winners have shown extraordinary commitment and creativity in putting the green agenda at the heart of their businesses, extending it to every possible corner and crevice.

Commendation: Château Maris

Chateau Maris contined their green efforts in 2022 with 2 transatlantic wine shipments via solar powered sailboat with the Breton company Grain de Sail . Using this form of transportation reduces carbon emissions by up to 90 % and reduces noise pollution and collisions with living creatures in the air and sea.

Our second initiative in 2022 is the installation of a copper wine tank in our café, thus reducing waste of bottles, boxes and plastic film as wines by the glass and café as served from this eco-friendly container. It currently serves as a test project with the goal to expand to wider use in the restaurant and entertainment industry.
